According to Indian legend, Manipuri dance is believed to be a creation of the gods. Although 'Roar of the Drums' is the work of non-celestial beings, it is nonetheless awe-inspiring. The Thang-ta, Pung Cholom, and Dhol Cholom dancers presented a dazzling mosaic combining traditional martial art forms with vigorous drumming and whirling acrobatic movements. The various components of this classical melange did not interconnect seamlessly, yet in the final analysis this glitch did not detract from what was otherwise a breath-taking performance.
